Touré has signed for Parma and Villa are out of it. Atalanta announced on the afternoon of August 7th that they had sold his registration to Parma Calcio 1913 on loan until June 30th 2027, with an option to buy that becomes an obligation once certain conditions are met. Alfredo Pedullà and Tuttosport carried the same terms: a €1.5m loan fee, a €10m purchase option that hardens into an obligation on appearances and Parma staying in Serie A, and a 15 per cent sell-on clause for Atalanta. Villa were never further along than an enquiry that only one outlet ever reported. Africa Foot said on August 6th, relayed by Football Place and The Hard Tackle, that their talks for the Mali forward had reached an advanced stage before Parma accelerated, but no English title and none of the reporters closest to Villa Park matched it, and the Italian side of the story was firm throughout while the Villa side was not. Touré, 24, had been told he was not in Maurizio Sarri's plans at Atalanta after a difficult three years since his move from Almería, and spent last season on loan at Beşiktaş, where he scored seven and set up five in 26 appearances without persuading the Turkish club to buy him.

How the Story Moved

DateWhat changed
August 6thTrackedRumor opened on the board at 6% (cooling) — source: Africa Foot, relayed by The Hard Tackle and Football Place; Sky Sport Italia / Gazzetta di Parma (Parma agreement). Parma have moved in front and Villa look to have missed him. Africa Foot reported on August 6th, relayed the same day by Football Place and The Hard Tackle, that Villa's talks for the Mali forward had reached an advanced stage before Parma accelerated and agreed terms with Atalanta: a €1.5m loan fee, a €10m purchase option that becomes an obligation on appearances and Parma staying in Serie A, and a 15 per cent sell-on clause. Sky Sport Italia and Gazzetta di Parma both have Touré travelling for a medical, and the Italian reporting on that side of the deal is firm; the Villa element rests on a single outlet. Touré, 24, has been told he is not in Maurizio Sarri's plans at Atalanta after a difficult three years since his move from Almería, and spent last season on loan at Beşiktaş, where he scored seven and set up five in 26 appearances without persuading the Turkish club to buy him. Fenerbahçe were also credited with advanced talks. Villa have been in the market for a wide attacker all summer, a search that hardened after Morgan Rogers left for Chelsea, and would now have to improve on Parma's package and convince both Atalanta and the player to revive it.
